My name is Sumo Banerjee. I am a planner of advertising. My advertising journey spans over two decades, in several countries and across very interesting categories of products. I am here to share some processes which may help brand owners, junior advertising professionals, and marketing executives think about brand building. Brand building is not difficult if you know how to think in a structured manner. In advertising knowledge could become a burden if it creates strong bias in one's thinking. In this blog I have focussed primarily on how to think rather than domain knowledge of categories. Hope it benefits you in your work.
I learned advertising, primarily, from my seniors in various companies and from innumerous presentations I had the privilege to go through in the last 20 years in this profession. What I have written in this blog is what I remember from those teachings. I do not claim all of these to be my words.
